In Mauritius, all forex & CFD brokers are overseen by the Financial Services Commission (FSC), the country’s official financial regulator. Although Mauritius is considered an offshore jurisdiction, having a government regulator in charge of the sector always adds an extra layer of confidence, which we appreciate.
It is also clear that many of the forex brokers in Mauritius, just as in many other countries, offer the MetaTrader 4 (MT4) platform as one of the platforms their clients can choose to trade on. Interestingly, this is still the case today, although its successor, MT5, was released as early as in 2010. The reason for this is largely that many of the Expert Advisors that existed for MT4 were not compatible with the MT5, giving traders little incentive to make the switch.
