Trio Markets is a forex broker that has been active in the forex trading industry since all the way back in 2014. The broker is today registered in Cyprus, and has an additional offshore branch registered in Mauritius. As usual, the Cyprus branch is subject to all EU regulations on retail forex trading, while the offshore branch can offer much more flexible trading conditions.
One thing that is important to note about Trio Markets for European traders is that there is still a way to enjoy the more flexible trading conditions that are available outside of the EU. Based on information we have gathered, it is possible even for EU-based traders to sign up with the Mauritius-registered branch of Trio Markets. By doing this, trading leverage as high as 1:500 becomes available - far more than the 1:30 leverage that is available in the EU.
In terms of instruments, Trio Markets offers well over 60 forex pairs, a similar number of single stocks of US-listed companies, as well as a small selection of crypto pairs, stock indices and commodities. The selection is, in other words, not huge, but still enough to satisfy the needs for most traders.
All of the instruments are available on MetaTrader 4 (MT4), which is currently the only trading platform Trio Markets supports. As always, this platform is available in its standard downloadable version for Windows, and as a web-based platform for use on all types of operating systems. Further, mobile versions for Apple and Android mobile devices are also available.
Besides the standard version of MT4, Trio Markets offers its own extension to the platform known as Mt4 TrioExtend. This add-on module brings with it certain advanced trade execution features, a sentiment analysis tool, and more advanced alarms, to name just a few things.
Trio Markets offers four different types of trading accounts, each with its own pros and cons depending on an individual’s trading style:
– Basic account, with a $100 minimum deposit, no commissions, and spreads from 2.4 pips
– Standard account, with a $5,000 minimum deposit, no commissions, and spreads from 1.4 pips
– Advanced account, with a $25,000 minimum deposit, no commissions, and spreads from 1.1 pips
– Premium - ECN account, with a $50,000 minimum deposit, commissions of $4 per side, and spreads from 0 pips
As can be seen from requirements for each account type, most retail forex traders will probably only qualify for the Basic or Standard accounts, given the very high minimum deposit requirements for the other account types.
Trading accounts with Trio Markets can be funded with all of the common methods such as Visa, MasterCard, bank wire transfer, and the e-wallet Neteller. In addition to that, we are happy to see that Trio Markets also accept crypto deposits made with Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and XRP.
To contact the Trio Markets support team, all clients are welcome to use email, live chat, or phone. Direct phone numbers with local language support have been set up in the UK, France, Italy, Germany and the United Arab Emirates (Arabic language).
All in all, we see Trio Markets as an interesting player to keep an eye on in the forex brokerage industry. We like that the broker has been around since 2014, which in our view gives some reassurance that this is a serious company with a solid track record. For traders looking for potentially high leverage on the MT4 platform, Trio Markets could therefore be a broker worth considering.
