Varianse is a forex broker that offers trading in most popular currency pairs, stocks of more than 100 US-listed companies, indices and commodities, with leverage going as high as 1:500 for non-European users. The broker has branches registered and regulated in the UK, Malaysia and Mauritius.
A nice thing to note about Varianse is that the broker supports two of the most popular retail forex trading platforms in the industry, namely MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and cTrader. These are both downloadable trading platforms for Windows computers that also exist as web platforms that can be used on any type of computer.
In addition to these two platforms, Varianse also offers a FIX API solution for users who want to connect to the broker with other trading platforms.
Further, it's worth mentioning that this broker has a very useful educational section on its website called Trade Lab where it shares articles, trading tips & strategies, and quick introductions to various topics in trading. Unsurprisingly, we believe this is a really useful thing for new traders in particular, helping them find suitable trading strategies that offer an edge in today's challenging markets.
While signing up for Varianse, new clients will be asked to choose which type of trading account to trade with. For this, Varianse offers either the Classic account with spreads from 1 pip and no commissions, the ECNpro account with spreads from 0 pips and commissions of USD 3.5 per lot per side, or the Prime account with spreads from 0 pips and “negotiable” commissions.
The three account types come with minimum deposit requirements of USD 500, 5,000 and 50,000, respectively. Needless to say, the Prime account offers the best trading conditions for professionals and others who trade relatively large volumes. For beginners and those with smaller trading accounts, however, the Classic account will do just fine.
All of the trading accounts give access to the full selection of trading instruments that Varianse has. This includes more than 40 forex pairs, stocks from around 100 public companies listed in the US, a few of the most popular commodities, major equity indices, and around 20 crypto pairs.
To deposit funds into a new account with Varianse, clients can use either bank wire transfers in GBP, EUR, USD or PLN, make a card payment with Visa or MasterCard, use the popular e-wallets Skrill and Neteller, or deposit directly with crypto. At the time of writing, the accepted cryptocurrencies included Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), and around ten other coins.
Among the payment methods, only bank transfers are processed free of charge by the broker, while the other payment methods come with additional processing fees ranging from 1% for crypto to 3.9% for Neteller and Skrill.
In terms of customer service, Varianse proudly states on its website that support is available 24 hours per day. When taking a closer look, however, it becomes clear that this is not really the case, and that at least phone and email support is limited to the hours between 09:00 and 18:00 UTC time, Monday to Friday. Local phone support is available in the UK and Mauritius.
Still, we are happy to see that the broker actually offers phone support, which is something many other brokers have chosen to skip. In addition to phone, the broker's support department can be reached via live chat and email regardless of the time zone and place the client is in.
In conclusion, it's clear to us that Varianse has taken steps to appear as attractive and modern as possible, even though it has operated since 2015. It's also a great plus to see that the broker offers two of the most popular trading platforms in the industry, and that it makes itself available via phone at least during regular European working hours.
