Registered and regulated in Australia under the name GO Markets Pty Ltd, this broker has been operating since 2006 and has become a popular choice among CFD and forex traders internationally. The broker is properly registered in the online database of the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) with Australian Business Number 85 081 864 039, although it has been registered under different names in the past. Update: GO Markets also started to operate in Mauritius and Cyprus since 2021.
The broker has a good track record and has not received any major complaints from traders as far as FX-List is aware. It has operated for a number of years under the oversight of the highly regarded regulator ASIC, which is also a testament to its seriousness and high level of integrity in the industry.
GO Markets offers hundreds of tradable instruments across asset classes, with tight spreads and a transparent pricing structure. The broker operates with a special leverage policy where all trading accounts by default are set up with a 1:100 trading leverage. Once set up, however, the trader can change this to anywhere from 1:1 (meaning no leverage) to 1:500, which is the maximum leverage offered by GO Markets.
GO Markets’ website is offered in English, Chinese, Indonesian, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Portugese, and Thai, and is full of useful information for traders at different stages of their trading journey, ranging from the most basic trading tutorials to more advanced technical analysis, and video walkthroughs of the MT4 platform.
In addition to demo accounts, which are available for free, GO Markets’ clients can choose between a Standard Account and a GO Plus Account when they sign up. The main difference between these two accounts is that the Standard Account offers commission-free trading but with spreads starting from 1.0 pips, while the GO Plus Account charges higher commissions, but offers very tight spreads on trading instruments. The minimum initial deposit is AUD 200 for both account types.
Deposits and withdrawals can easily be carried out through the usual options such as international bank transfer, major credit and debit cards, as well as a number of online e-wallet services. Cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals are unfortunately not available with GO Markets. Trading accounts can be opened in 9 different base currencies, including USD, SGD, CHF, CAD, HKD, AUD, EUR, GBP, and NZD.
When it comes to trading platforms, GO Markets has chosen to stay loyal to the MetaTrader brand, offering its clients the choice between trading on the MetaTrader 4 (MT4), MetaTrader 5 (MT5), or the web-based version of the same platform. The platform is also available as a mobile app for Apple and Android phones for people who like to trade on the go. Update: GO Markets also added the cTrader platform to the list in 2024.
Trading instruments available to GO Markets’ clients range from popular foreign currency pairs, to major international stock indices, single stocks, commodities and precious metals. Unfortunately for some perhaps, the broker has recently removed both binary options and cryptocurrency CFDs from its selection of trading instruments.
Lastly, GO Markets’ customer service is available via local phone numbers in Australia, the United Kingdom, and China 24 hours a day on weekdays. In addition, the broker can also be reached via email and live chat. The broker’s head office is located in Melbourne, Australia, where it also hosts occasional trading-related events and workshops.
I can admit that GoMarkets is one of the best STP companies. The execution is awesome and the spread is tight. The withdrawal takes maximum 2-3 working days. Highly recommended.
