In the Seychelles, forex brokers should generally hold a license from the Seychelles Financial Services Authority (SFSA), which is the government’s regulator for the non-bank financial services industry. However, it is well-known that some forex brokers operate in a legal grey area in the Seychelles without such a license.
In the past, regulated forex brokers in the Seychelles were overseen by the Seychelles International Business Authority, otherwise known as SIBA. Be aware that some brokers therefore might still refer to this regulator on their websites, instead of the newly formed SFSA. In either case, regulations of the financial sector in the Seychelles are generally loose, and brokers are allowed to conduct their business without too much involvement from the government.
