In Mauritius, ECN forex brokers and other types of forex & CFD brokers are all regulated by the Financial Services Commission Mauritius, better known as the FSC. This is a regulatory agency that allows forex brokers to operate relatively freely, with little interference from the government. As a result, a number of international ECN forex brokers have chosen to set up local branches in Mauritius over the years.
ECN forex brokers follow a different brokerage model than many other retail-focused forex brokers do, and they are often preferred by high-volume and professional traders. One reason for this is because ECN brokers do not match client orders themselves, which means that they have no conflict of interest with their clients. Instead, client orders are matched with orders from other banks and brokerages in a shared network, which helps keep the spreads low.
