cTrader is a popular downloadable trading platform created in 2011 by software company Spotware as a competitor to the much more widely known MT4 & 5. The platform was built from scratch as an ECN trading platform, and supports a variety of trading assets. Some traders may therefore argue that it offers a better ECN trading experience than for example MT4, which was not originally developed for ECN trading.
Today, few brokers will offer cTrader as their only trading platform. Instead, the platform is typically offered as one of many options, usually including the MT4 & 5 and a web-based trading platform. Partly thanks to its good design and intuitive features, the trading platform is a popular choice among both new and experienced ECN traders.
