Cyprus is well-known as a hot-spot for all types of online brokers, which also used to include those offering forex & binary options trading. However, new regulations introduced by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), which the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission is required to follow, has made binary options trading in Cyprus difficult.

Because of the regulatory challenges, binary options brokers in Cyprus are not able to accommodate EU-based traders who wish to trade binary options. European traders who want to trade binary options should instead look for a broker based outside of the EU, such as in Australia or in an offshore jurisdiction.
