Comprehensive review

Hirose is a binary options broker based out of Malaysia and regulated by the Labuan Financial Services Authority (LFSA), an offshore-like regulator responsible for overseeing financial services companies in the Malaysian Federal Territory of Labuan.

Although Hirose is now a Malaysia-registered broker under the name Hirose Financial MY Ltd., it was previously known as Hirose UK. This is also the reason why the website’s domain name is still HiroseUK.com. However, there is no evidence that the broker is still regulated in the UK.

Unfortunately, Hirose’s services are closed to residents of many countries, including the US, UK, all EU/EEA countries, Japan, Malaysia, and several other smaller countries.

Hirose offers binary options based on a handful of underlying assets, which includes some of the most popular forex pairs as well as gold and silver. At the time of this review, no other underlying assets are offered for binary options trading at Hirose.

Both the broker’s website and its trading platform are among the most old-fashioned we have seen from any broker. While the website itself has not been updated for at least two years, the Flash-based trading platform appears to be decades old based on the looks of it. Also keep in mind that the platform requires to have an updated version of the Flash Player plugin for your web browser to function properly.

Despite the outdated web platform, it should also be mentioned that Hirose now offers a mobile trading app with a far more modern and intuitive user interface, called the LION Binary Options Pro. This app features one-click order placement, as well as the ability to perform technical analysis on charts directly on the mobile device.

In order to open a live trading account with Hirose, new clients will be asked to complete an online form with their standard personal information. In addition, the broker also asks all new clients to upload the relevant documents to verify their ID via the same online application form. Once the form and the attached documents have been verified, a user ID and password will be sent out via email. Expect the whole procedure to take between 1 and 2 business days to complete.

As with most other binary options brokers, trading accounts with Hirose can be funded with bank wire transfer, credit & debit cards, as well as the common e-wallets Skrill and Neteller. Note that only USD, GBP, and EUR are accepted currencies when making a deposit.

Hirose’s customer service can be reached via live chat and an online request for callback. Unfortunately, no phone numbers nor any support opening hours are provided by the broker, making it more difficult to reach this broker when urgent help is needed.

In conclusion, it is clear to us that Hirose is a binary options broker that used to be ambitious, but now has fallen behind. The broker has won a few awards over the years, but the last one mentioned on its website is from 2015. As of this writing, the website itself also appears to not have been updated since at least 2018. However, for traders from the broker’s home region of Malaysia and Indonesia, Hirose may still be an OK broker for basic binary options trading.
