Comprehensive review

An offshore-based broker established as recently as in 2020, Esta Trade can offer forex and crypto traders access to a range of both traditional assets and crypto assets, high trading leverage of up to 1:500, and funding directly with Bitcoin. The broker is registered in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, a country in the Caribbean which has long been a popular jurisdiction for forex brokers to incorporate in. Thanks to it being an unregulated offshore broker, Esta Trade is also one of just a few forex brokers that offer its services to US traders.

Regarding available instruments, Esta Trade has a decent selection of more than 50 forex pairs, in addition to CFDs on a small number of stock indices, commodities, and popular cryptocurrencies traded against both the euro and the US dollar. Interestingly, having these crypto pairs sets Esta Trade apart from many other forex brokers who traditionally only allow crypto to be traded against the US dollar.

As far as platforms go, Esta Trade has made the safe choice of sticking with MetaTrader 4 (MT4). This platform is already well-known among most of our readers, with its industry-leading marketplace for automated trading strategies (known as Expert Advisors) as perhaps the main selling point. In addition to being available as a downloadable piece of software for Windows PCs, Esta Trade also offers the mobile versions of MT4 for Apple and Android mobile devices.

A special thing about Esta Trade is that it essentially only offers one type of trading account, namely a RAW ECN account. As is common with ECN (electronic communications network) accounts, this trading account comes with fairly tight spreads and instead charges a small commission on all trades. In the case of Esta Trade, the commission is currently USD 1 per 100,000 traded, and spreads start from 0.0 pips on major forex pairs.

Once the sign-up has been completed, it’s time to fund the trading account. To do this, Esta Trade offers the choice between making a Bitcoin transaction directly to the broker, or sending a traditional bank wire transfer. New accounts with Esta Trade can be opened in EUR, USD, or GBP.

At the time of this writing, no other funding methods than bank wire and Bitcoin are accepted by Esta Trade. Further, it’s also worth noting that USD 10 is the minimum deposit required to open an account with this broker. As always, withdrawals should be made using the same method as was used for the original deposit.

As we have come to expect from all brokers that target a truly global audience, Esta Trade’s customer support team is available 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday, via live chat. Unfortunately, however, no direct phone number to the broker has been listed on the website, which means it may be hard to get a hold of quickly in case of urgent support needs.

All in all, we have the impression that Esta Trade is doing what it can to capitalize on the new wave of crypto traders that are entering the market. This is done while still keeping a foot firmly planted in the world of traditional forex trading on the MT4 platform, which still has a wide appeal in the retail trading community. As a result, we believe Esta Trade will be a name to keep an eye on as the hybrid crypto/forex broker industry matures in the coming years.
