Comprehensive review

Circle Markets is a New Zealand-based and Vanuatu-regulated forex & CFD broker that was established in 2016. Due to its offshore regulation, the broker offers high leverage of up to 1:500, an easy user registration and verification process, and fairly tight spreads on the most popular trading pairs.

The broker also has a “fund manager” service for experienced traders who are looking to take the next step into managing money for other investors. The broker promises that with their help, experienced independent traders will be guided through the paperwork and complex regulations in place before they can go on to become independent fund managers.

Circle Markets also offer trading competitions from time to time, which are available for traders with both demo and live accounts. Although the prizes are rather lame at just $250 and $500, respectively, the competitions offer an opportunity to hone ones trading skills, while also giving some bragging rights to the monthly winners.

For traders who need to run their automated trading strategies even when offline, Circle Markets offers a free virtual private server (VPS) solution through an external provider for anyone who trades more than 20 lots per month. For traders with a lower trading volume, prices start from USD 20 for the most basic package.

In terms of trading instruments, the selection is a bit more limited than what is available from many other brokers, but traders will still be able to trade a pretty good selection of forex pairs in particular. Other instruments offered include CFDs on popular cryptocurrencies, as well as stock indices and commodity CFDs.

All trading instruments offered by Circle Markets are available from either the classic MetaTrader 4 (MT4), the newer cTrader platform, or the ultra-fast Fix API platform.

While MT4 probably does not need an introduction, cTrader is a more modern but still less-used platform designed for online retail trading in forex and CFDs. Just as MT4, cTrader also offers excellent charting capabilities, a large selection of technical trading indicators, as well as copy-trading and the ability to code algorithmic trading strategies directly within the platform. In addition to the standard desktop version, cTrader is also available as a mobile app for Android devices.

On the other side of the spectrum from the nicely designed cTrader platform is the Fix API platform offered by Circle Markets. This platform truly goes back to basics as far as design and user interface is concerned, but instead focuses on offering the very best in trade execution. While the MetaTrader platform for most brokers can handle a maximum of 50-450 trades per second from all of their clients combined, the Fix API platform can process a whopping 4,500 trades per second.

Because of this, the Fix API platform easily removes any lag that may be experienced by scalpers and high-frequency traders on MetaTrader, offering superior trading conditions for these types of traders.

Circle Markets further offer several trading accounts to choose from, depending on the platform a trader wishes to use:

cTrader:
– cTrader RAW ECN, with tight spreads and commissions on trades
– cTrader PRO, tight spreads and lower commissions on trades

MetaTrader 4:
– MT4 Standard Account, with commission-free trading and spreads from 0.7 pips
– MT4 Raw ECN Account, with commissions and tight spreads
– MT4 Raw ECN Pro Account, with lower commissions for large traders

Fix API:
– RAW ECN, with commission-based trading for the Fix API platform
– FIX API PRO, with low commissions and very tight spreads

Trading accounts can be funded with credit and debit cards like Visa and MasterCard, online money transfer services like Skrill, Neteller, and PayPal, bank wire transfers, and SEPA transfers in EUR within Europe. In addition, bitcoin transfers have also been added for extra convenience for traders. Keep in mind that the payment source must be in the same name as the trading account holder, otherwise the payment will be returned.

Circle Markets claims that its customer service is available 24/7 via live chat, a New Zealand phone number, and email. There is also a designated phone number directly to the trading desk for trading-related questions, which is something we always appreciate from a broker.
