Skrill is an e-wallet service that was previously known as Moneybookers. The company was founded in 2001, and has over the years managed to become one of the most popular ways for traders to transfer funds to low spread forex brokers and other companies offering financial services. Skrill is owned by the same parent company as another popular e-wallet service called Neteller, which is also accepted by many low spread forex brokers.
Skrill’s main advantage is the cheap and fast online money transfers it is known for, and that it is a fully regulated company under the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority, which also authorizes it to operate in the EU. Skill is therefore particularly popular among European traders as a way to fund their low spread forex brokerage accounts.
