“Softs” is a term often used for soft commodities, which is what we often call major agricultural commodities like coffee, sugar, wheat, soybeans, and so on. In general, it refers to commodities that are grown, not mined; which are referred to as “hard” commodities.
There are many CFD & forex brokers that offer trading in soft commodities, although it is not as widespread as trading in commodities like gold or oil. Still, some traders specialize in these assets and exclusively trade soft commodities. Reference prices for the CFDs that forex brokers often offer on soft commodities are usually set at commodity exchanges in the US such as the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE).
