Energies are among the most important commodities that exists, and they are necessary for almost everything we do, from transportation to cooking and cleaning. Although the most traded energy commodity is oil, there are also large and liquid markets for commodities like natural gas, coal, and gasoline. These commodities are traded around the world, but the best-known markets for commodities are the two futures exchanges in Chicago; the CME and CBOE.
Many brokers, including a large number of crypto CFD brokers, offer at least some energy commodities for trading in the form of CFDs. These CFDs are designed to track the price of a corresponding futures contract at one of the big futures markets. An advantage with trading these assets as CFDs instead of futures, however, is that the trader can still get high leverage without meeting the high margin requirements set by the futures exchanges.
