POLi is an Australian e-wallet service that enables payments for all kind of goods and services online without the need for a payment card. Instead of connecting to a credit or debit card, POLi connects directly to the user’s bank account to make payments. The service is mainly used in its home country of Australia and New Zealand, where it is accepted as a funding method by many CFD & forex brokers.
POLi was founded in Melbourne, Australia in 2006, and was formerly known as Centricom. The company is today a subsidiary fully owned by Australia Post. Although POLi has received criticism from banks for allowing users to pay for things like illegal online gambling, it continues to be in use by a large number of CFD forex brokers that are targeting Australian and New Zealand-based traders.
